This is the most downhill-optimized binding we have tested. Among all the others that come close, it is the most reliable. There are definitely some usability and efficiency quirks. But, if you are 100% confident you need full-function downhill performance (very, very few backcountry skiers do, for what it is worth…) this is the option we recommend most highly. It has certified release value, adjustable release, and nearly full retention elasticity. The touring mode and function are rudimentary, but effective. It tours about 3x better than anything in this subcategory from five years ago or more. But it tours about 1/3rd as well as most of the other backcountry ski binding options available right now.
